Marketing Manager/ Sr. Manager

Operating out of the San Francisco office, the Sales and PR Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing and PR initiatives that will build awareness and drive adoption of Papaya Mobile’s products.

Papaya Mobile is the leading Android mobile social gaming community in the US, Europe & China.   Many leading US and European developers already use Papaya Mobile’s Products.

Papaya Mobile’s products include; a social SDK with the biggest feature-set in class enabling the rapid integration of features like Avatars, in-app purchase, Leader boards and Achievements; a Social Game Engine for quickly developing Facebook-like games and; an Offer SDK which allows developers to monetize in-app purchases through an Offer Wall like Super Rewards with more than 2,000 offers.

Our killer team includes investors, advisers and employees from company’s including Google, Nvidia, AMD, Aurora Feint and co-founders from Mforma and Sina.  Papaya Mobile recently received $4M of investment from Silicon Valley based DCM in 2010, who have invested in companies including Rockyou, About.com, Playfirst and Sling Media.

Role & responsibilities:

  • Designing, developing and launching measurable PR & Marketing campaigns, targeted at developer and mobile industry segments that drive awareness and adoption of Papaya Mobile’s products.
  • Working closely with the rest of the US team to create a common vision for Papaya Mobile’s products.
  • Creating collateral including presentations, newsletters, web content & other supporting materials for the Business Development and Developer Relations teams.
  • Responsible for managing an external PR company to help execute on PR plans.
  • Managing the PR and Marketing Budget.
  • Securing media and speaking opportunities for company spokesperson(s).
  • Responsible for managing events & sponsorships.

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.  MBA or equivalent training a bonus.
  • At least 5 years experience working in Marketing & PR
  • Experience in the mobile/online games industry a bonus.
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced start-up environment

Director, Business Development

Operating out of the San Francisco office, the Director, Business Development will be responsible for working with Strategic Partners throughout the mobile ecosystem, to drive adoption of Papaya Mobile’s products.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for identifying, negotiating, closing and managing new partnerships primarily with the following types of companies:
    • Handset manufacturers
    • North American Wireless Operators
    • Large games publishers (online, console/PC, mobile & media)
  • Expanding relationships with pre-existing partners to include deeper integration of Papaya Mobile’s products.
  • Able to develop financial models to quantify the market size opportunity and formulate business cases for new opportunities.
  • Able to develop and maintain a consistent product message. This includes definition of target audiences, their needs, key features, and business benefits.
  • Interfacing with other groups to effectively gain buy-in on new initiatives.
  • Working closely with Marketing to develop partner materials.
  • Providing creative insight to the Product team to support innovative product strategy, new products or product extensions for strategic partners.

Desired Skills:

  • A proven track record of closing deals.
  • A creative thinker and good at identifying new business opportunities.
  • The ability to prospect, negotiate & close deals using a structured process
  • 5 years+ sales and/or business development in the mobile space.  Games experience a plus.
  • Strong pre-existing network of carrier, OEM and game company contacts.
  • An excellent networker.
  • A passion for technology and start-ups!

Chief Developer Evangelist

The Chief Developer Evangelist will be Papaya Mobile’s primary spokesperson to the developer community helping to win their hearts and mind.   You will be working with developers to help them with the integration of Papaya Mobile products as well as to advise them on everything from game design to monetization of their games.  This is a VP level position and you will report into the CEO.  The role is also part Technical.

  • Engage in technical conversations with the Papaya Mobile developer community– with both existing and prospective customers.
  • Convey a compelling and convincing case for Papaya Mobile’s technologies vs. the competition.
  • Help developers to do what it takes to design, build, monetize and distribute products using Papaya Mobile’s technology.
  • Attend and speak at Industry events.
  • Organize meet-ups, workshops & other events to spread the word about Papaya Mobile and educate developers on how to use our technology.
  • Assist the marketing team in developing campaigns to help developers discover Papaya Mobile.
  • Work with the CEO and product teams closely to influence the shape of future Papaya Mobile products.
  • Gather feedback that will inform Engineering, Product, Marketing, and Sales decisions.

Requirements:

  • 8-10 years previous experience as a developer evangelist, mobile application developer or technical product manager.
  • Familiar with all the current smart phone technologies and experience in application development.
  • Passionate about mobile and gaming.
  • Excellent communication and persuasion skills. You often blog and tweet about technical topics you are interested in.
  • Experience building community around something you are passionate about.
  • Public speaking experience at conferences and other types of events.
  • A broad selection of developer contacts in the gaming space.

Technical Support Manager

Operating out of the San Francisco office, the Technical Support Manager will lead technical efforts to support the PapayaMobile developer ecosystem as they integrate and use PapayaMobile’s SDK products.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Beijing headquarters to improve global customer support service
  • Manage the Papaya technical support forum to best address questions coming from 3rd Party game developers
  • Manage the technical documentation associated with Papaya’s SDKs and Game Engine products
  • Evangelize the portfolio of Papaya products and instruct the developer community on the integration process into the Papaya social network.
  • Perform Papaya product integration for 3rd party games when needed
  • Hold technical workshops that instruct 3rd party game developers on the use of Papaya products

Experience:

  • B.S. in Computer Science from top engineering school
  • 1+ year developing apps in Android or iOS.
  • 3-5 years experience with Java or Objective C, Linux, JSON, XML
  • Experience with object-oriented programming and design including Model-View-Controller architecture
  • Excellent communication skills and able to give presentations to large audiences
