Setting WEB VIEW URL

How to set a default URL in the webView??
Currently i am doing : var web = v_create(V_WEB_VIEW,0,100,800,400); (as mentioned in the API doc)
but this shows only a white screen not a browser..

v_root().addview(web);
web.openurl("http://www.google.com");
