Problems with app installation

Hey,

I have been trying to run my application on the emulator. On the console it normally logs the installation and running process  but the application doesn't start in the emulator and also doesn't even show up in the installed applications list.

I guess this is not really a problem. Just because the emulator is slow. You need to wait for some time.

Maybe you can try on a real phone

Ok i will try waiting a bit longer
It works on the real phone but I need to run it on the emulator to access my application data from DDMS ..

I see. If it runs on a real phone, then the Android SDK, JDK and our engine should have no problems. If the emulator is too slow, maybe try on a faster PC

I waited for almost 30 mins and the app is still not up, so I guess something else is going wrong here...
I am running Core 2 Duo with 3GB RAM, so I think its fast enough to run the emulator smoothly...

Then it should be emulator 's problem. But I cannot tell what it is. Maybe re download the emulator.exe.  

And you can use DDMS when the app runs on a real phone. If you use eclipse, the phone's id will be listed there, and you can check heap, log and other info

Yes i can access the heap and log from the eclipse of the device but the "data" folder is not accessible on the device..

Can you try another PC? It may not be a slow problem, may be other causes.

I just tried on 2 PCs in our office, the emulator has no problem.

You may also try re download the whole Android SDK
